“Talking About School” is an online resource intended to assist children aged 5-7 years and older to help them manage their emotional responses and subsequent behaviours within a school environment. This resource is designed to support children who may find it difficult to manage their emotions while at school. The resource contains a variety of activities that focus on developing an understanding of different situations commonly encountered in school.
The success of managing these situations relies on the child’s social skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to solve interpersonal problems. Additionally, the reactions of others and the specific context of each situation play a role. The resource utilises charming illustrations to present challenging social and educational scenarios that are relevant to children in this age group.
The aim is to support children develop strategies that will enable them to manage these situations more effectively. By engaging in the scenarios, children can develop valuable skills to navigate their emotions and behaviours in a school setting.
