Download vs CD queries
We sell all our material as PDF files, on CD, or as downloads. In both cases you can copy the files onto up to 5 computers at one site.
The material and license conditions for the software are the same however you opt to receive it.
Downloads can ONLY be ordered over our website, and must be paid for by card at the time of order. The downloads are created automatically by the website. Links to the downloads are sent by email when the order is finalised.
Once downloaded files are saved to your hard disc there should be no need to download again. However you should always make a backup copy. For a limited period your downloads will be available by logging into Your Account on the website.
If you order the files on CD, you should copy them to your computer and keep the CD as a backup.
If you order items on CD (multiple items would be burnt to the one CD) you can pay by card or opt to be invoiced with the goods. The invoice will be emailed with the order confirmation and the goods will arrive with a copy of the invoice.
If you opt to receive your purchased items by download link, the link should be received as soon as you have completed your order on the website. The link to the download will be sent to the email address you specified. Do check your junk folder, just in case.
You could log into Your Account on the website where you will be able to access your download orders. Do contact us if there seems to be a problem.
You would need to email us with full details of the order in question, ideally with the original invoice number as this is a great shortcut to us tracing and confirming your order. The basic charge for a replacement CD is £15 plus VAT, regardless of the value of the material on the disc. If items have been updated however since your original purchase, we would need to make an additional charge to update the item.
We do recommend that material once downloaded is copied to the hard disc of at least one, maximum 5, computers at your one licensed site on receipt, so that you should not need to subsequently rely on still being able to download it. A back up copy can be made on a CD or memory stick if wished. The reason it is advisable to do this is because if an item is subsequently revised, the original version is no longer accessible, and you would need to purchase the new item.
Licensing and copyright queries
All PDF files bought from Black Sheep Press Ltd are subject to our licence conditions.
Our license terms allow the purchaser to copy the files on to UP TO 5 computers at one site. A 'site' refers to one place e.g. a school site or SLT clinic (NHS and private). Any staff based at that geographical site can then use that material in their direct work with children.
Single handed private therapists must licence the material in their own/business name, for their own use.
NHS and private SLTs, working at more than one site, can use their licensed material in direct work with children on their caseload, regardless of location.
Therapists providing training to school staff must not copy their material on to the school computers.
If a school needs BSP resources for a programme or intervention, the school must buy its own copy/site license.
Please contact us directly if you need to purchase a network license (allowing material to be accessed from several geographical sites, e.g. within an NHS SLT service) or you wish to purchase the same material for a number of sites on the same order.
We will ask for details of the number of sites, computers, and WTE staff and will then be able to give you a quote. We would undoubtedly give you a discount if you are purchasing a network or multiple site license. The size of the discount would be based on the number of sites and the nature of the order.
We understand there are pressures to reduce copying, paper and postage, but it would be outside our copyright terms for files to be emailed or uploaded to schools' computers.
Where there are certain products that therapists feel schools could frequently be advised to use with individuals then it may be appropriate for the school to buy their own copy.
Do get in touch if you have a particular issue. We would always prefer that people ask if they are unsure.
No image or text may be digitally modified without permission.
No, all our material (with the exception of 2 items, WIG6 and WIG8) is sent as PDF files to be copied to the hard disc of a maximum of 5 computers at the one licensed site. You can then print copies indefinitely as required.
We no longer publish a paper catalogue as the web site is able to display far more information and sample pages. Click the ‘View sample' button to the right of the main picture on the specific product page. On the web site you can sign up for our email newsletter which will keep you up to date with new products & offers. The email will only be about every 1-2 months - we will not flood your inbox with spam!

Unfortunately we are not in a position to offer training courses ourselves. We aim to ensure that most of our material has clear instructions to support independent use. In some areas of the UK local SLT teams will run training courses or offer advice that will sometimes centre on the use of our material. Your local SLT contact can let you know what support is available in your area.
Specific training on the Narrative material is available from Judith Carey author of some of this material. She can be contacted via Stockport NHS Trust tel 0161 426 5200.
Ensure you are trying to print from a file that is saved to your hard disc. Do not try to print directly from a CD or a download that has not been saved.
Ensure you are opening the file in Adobe Acrobat, not in Preview, or similar.
Can you now view ALL the pages- without trying to print them? If you can see all the pages, the problem is with your printer. It may not have sufficient memory if you are trying to print the whole pack at once. Try printing the pages in batches if that is the case.
We can send estimates if required, especially for ‘customised’ quotes such as updating material/network licenses etc. However, a basic estimate is simply the sum total of the items you wish to purchase, plus VAT if applicable. An estimate could also be obtained by simply adding those items to your shopping basket on our website.
We hope you will find the detailed alternative menus on our new website enable you to find what you need. You can either search via the menu that most closely links to your setting, or use the menu that starts from the difficulties that a young person may present with. If you know the code or name of the product you are after, or you have a subject matter in mind, you can use the search box.
Items on our articles page may also help you decide which items will work for you.
