We are delighted to introduce you to a new assessment recently added to our range - The High Level Language comprehension Test (HILLT) is a standardised assessment of verbal understanding for 5 to 11 year-old children. It assesses the comprehension of a wide range of inferences (including social inferences) and non-literal language (including idioms). It can be administered by speech and language therapists, teachers, educational psychologists, paediatricians and other health and education professionals. It aims to identify the verbal comprehension strengths and needs of English speaking children with communication impairments, to aid differential diagnosis and help target appropriate intervention. We have fallen in love with these Sound Stories and are delighted to share another with you. Sound Stories /k/ initial contains two stories. Story one: Kind King Karl - Kind King Karl throws an amazing party with conjurors, cartoons, cake and candy floss. But… oh no!! Kevin has an accident involving ketchup and cushions … Story two: A cold day at the zoo - Karim and Karen cared for all sorts of animals at the zoo. In winter some of the animals got very cold in their cages. Fortunately Karim and Karen came up with a great idea to keep them warm involving coats, cardigans, caps, curtains and carpets.
