Rate-Quickly/Slowly, Concepts

Our Rate-Quickly/Slowly pack contains 12 pages of activities based around the characters Quincy Quickly and Sam Slowly. A set of clear instructions are included along with ideas for extension activities. It is recommended that, when a new concept is introduced, a ‘hands on’, concrete approach should always be the initial teaching method. Some children will require a higher level of repetition and reinforcement to fully establish the schemata for the word and so our Rate-Quickly/Slowly pack provides these additional activities.

Join Quincy and Sam in their daily routines:

• we can copy their actions and drive their cars to lots of different destinations.
• play a game to decide whether things should be done slowly or quickly and the possible consequences if we make the wrong choice… but what might happen if we wash our hands or go to the toilet slowly or quickly?
• Help Quincy and Sam decide what moves quickly and slowly. Does a snail move quickly or slowly? Does a fly move quickly or slowly?
• Read a story about the Quincy and Sam’s daily routines to offer repetition and encourage the child to retell the story.
