Pronouns is a varied pack of games and activities to develop understanding and use of ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘they’.

The activities in this pack have been developed to explicitly teach 1st person pronouns (‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘they’) to children who have a diagnosis of developmental language disorder, or who are exhibiting delayed language development, or who have English as a second language. The illustrations reflect this purpose. This pack in its current form does not address the use of singular ‘they’ as a gender-neutral third person pronoun.

Based on the work of Felicity Durham, Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with full colour illustrations by Helen Rippon. Felicity mainly works in mainstream education supporting pupils with significant speech and language difficulties. She also has a strong interest in working collaboratively with schools so that new skills are embedded and developed through everyday learning experiences.

The activities suggested are also a useful resource for teaching vocabulary. In addition they can encourage the development of a wide range of communication/social skills e.g. listening, turn-taking, developing self- confidence through talking in context .
