p Final Phonological Worksheets

Description

The Phonological Worksheet range provides a comprehensive set of pictures and activities which focus on the correction of identified phonemes in particular positions in a word. p Final Phonological Worksheets focuses on the correction of /p/ in final position.

The activities are designed to be fun and easy to use, and are accompanied by clear instructions and targets. This makes them particularly useful for home and school programmes carried out by carers and/or school support staff, as well as for supplementing individual therapy targets. Teachers may also find the activities helpful for children who require higher levels of repetition and reinforcement in developing their phonic skills.

Suitable for use with children aged 4years – 7years.

p Final Phonological Worksheets are just one of the worksheets from our PW series. Other packs include Initial: k, p, t, Medial: k, p, t. and Final: k, t. The graded illustrated activities within the p Final Phonological Worksheets place emphasis  on sound awareness and target a particular phoneme through:

  • Production in isolation
  • Sound awareness
  • Single word level
  • Easy phrase level
  • Complex sentence level/conversation

Includes extensive word lists and sets of minimal pairs that represent common phonological processes or sound substitutions. The format also allows pictures to be used for literacy targets. Suitable for a wide age and ability range, the pack is ideal for supplementing individual therapy plans and/or providing work for home and school.

The particular focus on an individual phoneme, and the multiple examples provided from sound to word to phrase level, make the packs an ideal bank of differentiation activities for children who require higher levels of repetition and reinforcement. Many sheets and activities have been adapted to give children the opportunity to write the letters that correspond with the spoken sounds (phonemes).

Snippets: Upgrade your account to send specially selected extracts of this resource, via our website, to parents and carers for homework exercises. The snippets for this resource offer activities which encourage the production of the focus sound – /p/ – in the final position.  They include the following:

  • Using single-word illustrations to encourage the production of the focus sound.
  • A board game using dice to see who will be the first to get to the end and what they must do along the way (eg hop three times, yap like a dog)!
  • ‘Something’s Missing’ game, where the child has to identify what’s missing, draw it and say it (eg the hump on a camel, legs on the sheep).
