f-th-s Phonological Worksheets

Description

The Phonological Worksheet range provides a comprehensive set of pictures and activities which focus on the correction of identified phonemes in particular positions in a word. f-th-s Phonological Worksheets address the commonly heard difficulty of children confusing production of /th/,/f/ and /s/ which can also affect spelling. For example, ‘Fum’ instead of ‘Thumb’ and ‘Thit down’ instead of ‘Sit down’.

The activities are designed to be fun and easy to use and are accompanied by clear instructions and targets. This makes them particularly useful for home and school programmes carried out by carers and/or school support staff, as well as for supplementing individual therapy targets. Teachers may also find the activities helpful for children who require higher levels of repetition and reinforcement in developing their phonic skills.

This pack is suitable for slightly older children of six years of age and above

f-th-s Phonological Worksheets are just one of the worksheets from our PW series. Other packs include Initial: p, k, t, Medial: k, p, t. and Final: k, p, t.

These f-th-s  Phonological Worksheets aim to raise awareness of ‘f’–‘th’ contrasts and ‘s’–‘th’ contrasts. They are designed to be used by speech and language therapists and home and school programmes. The focus of this pack is to highlight the correct production of ‘th’ and a comprehensive word list of voiceless and voiced ‘th’, in all positions in words, is provided.

The f-th-s phonological worksheets provide activities which highlight the contrasts through:

  • Production contrasts with clear visual guidance on the correct mouth position
  • Sound awareness
  • Single word production
  • Contrasting words in complex sentences

(NB: The activities in this pack target only voiceless ‘th’, for example: ‘thorn’; ‘thanks’; and ‘thumb’. They do not target voiced ‘th’, for example: ‘this’; ‘that’; and ‘these’).
