This ‘Talking About …’ pack about social skills, is almost entirely based on the experiences and difficulties of a group of Year 9 students. They took part in a programme to develop their skills in functional settings. Sadie Childs, SLT, came up with the idea to develop this into a pack of resources.

‘Talking about Community’ follows the format of an introductory picture illustrating a particular scenario. There follow four possible resolutions. The merits of each are for discussion. There are ten situations that young people in the community may encounter illustrated in this pack. There are also many extension activities. This material is ideal for schools implementing social skills and life skills training.
