The Reception Narrative pack contains lesson plans, activities and picture resources to teach the Narrative framework and narrative skills to children entering reception class. The programme outlined in the pack mirrors the development of narrative skills in children from raising awareness of the individual components of a simple story, to retelling a story and then generating their own ideas for stories.
The Narrative components of ‘Who’ ‘Where’ ‘When’ ‘What happened’ are introduced using a format which complements Literacy Hour and Curriculum topics.
The small group session plans can be used for small group work or ‘dipped into’ for whole class activities.
