Description

Negatives No-noun is a pack of games and activities aimed at developing understanding and use of negative sentence forms.

For more information see below.

This fully revised colour pack provides illustrations and activities which will enable the adult to model and demonstrate ‘no’ + noun phrases, for children who have language delay. It also includes ideas and opportunities for the child to begin to use the ‘no’ + noun construction themselves in a fun and functional way.

Children who require additional support to develop their grammar system need to hear multiple repetitions of their target grammatical construction, accompanied by close modelling, correction and positive praise of their own attempts to construct the negative.

The illustrations and activities within this pack will facilitate this process.

The resources are suitable for use with children who have delayed or disordered language development; and would also be suitable for children who have English as an additional language (EAL).

Aims: To develop understanding and use of the negative sentence form.

Age Range: Foundation Stage – KS 1+, 4years – 7years+.

Curriculum Targets: P scales; KS 1 English.

Contents: 2 pages of introduction and background, 3 pages of instructions, 12 pages of colour pictures, 12 pages of duplicate black and white illustrations.
