This resource was designed by Catherine Redmayne who practised as a Speech and Language Therapist with preschool and primary age children for many years. She became very interested in the work of Marion Blank and the experimental version of the PLAI based on that work (Preschool Language Assessment Instrument by Blank, Rose & Berlin). Using the PLAI highlighted the fact that many children with delayed or impaired language skills did not select relevant picture details that helped them to ‘know’ things. The idea for Mr Goodguess was born.
