Talking About Home is a resource to develop inferencing skills, situational understanding & verbal reasoning in children. This pack focuses on topics relevant to a child’s experiences at home. The idea of the Talk About series originated from Educational Psychologist Marion Nash and has been developed by Helen Rippon, SLT.
Description: Children discuss topics relevant to their experiences at home, e.g. a new baby in the family; sharing a bedroom.
Aims: Develop inferencing skills, situational understanding and verbal reasoning skills; Taking differing views into account; Giving reasons for opinions and actions.
Age Range: 5yrs. – 9yrs.+, KS1-KS2.
Curriculum Targets: P scales; Speaking, Listening, Learning. KS1/KS2 English/ PSHE.
Format: PDF file, download 1.8MB or on CD, 12 Large pictures, 48 Small pictures, Instructions and question sheets, available as a download or on CD.
