Four – Part Sequences interactive resource comprises 3 activities
Activity 1:Introductory activity featuring three sequences. Enabling the adult to demonstrate to the child how to sequence a selection of pictures into an organised story.
Activity 2: Nine sequences which enable the child to organise a sequence more independently
Activity 3: A more challenging activity where the child is encouraged to re-order eight sequences independently.
Choice of audio – simple sentence support/complex sentence support.

Picture sequencing sets are a staple resource in most speech and language therapy clinics and classrooms. They can be used to develop skills in various aspects of language, including: vocabulary, pronouns, tenses, conjunctions, narrative, organisation of ideas into a coherent verbal sequence. Teachers frequently use sequence pictures as a visual support for pupils who are struggling with story writing. Teachers/Specialist Teachers will also find this resource useful for children with SpLD who are experiencing difficulties with sequencing. Such children may have difficulty ordering events.
Aims: To develop and support more complex sequencing skills.
Additional Targets: Extending sentence length; teaching conjunctions ‘and’ ‘because’; predicting; answering ‘Why’ questions; Narrative therapy; use of past/future tenses; early story writing.
Age Range: Foundation Stage – KS 1+, 4years – 7years+.
